Job description

Central Coast Hospice is a fast-growing organization with an excellent reputation throughout the Central Coast. We are expanding our hospice services and seeking an Art Coordinator to conduct art and craft classes in assisted living facilities as well as individual sessions in homes or facilities for hospice patients in the Santa Barbara County area. NOTE: THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION. The applicant must be willing to work in Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, and Goleta. Additional work may be available in the Santa Ynez Valley, Lompoc, and Santa Maria areas if interested. Experience in teaching classes or creating art activities for small groups is preferred.

Hospice work is rewarding for self-motivated, organized, and compassionate individuals who work well with minimal supervision and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

Work Schedule: Flexible, between 8-20 hours per week. Patient visits are generally Monday through Friday, from 8AM to 5PM.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of hospice philosophy and issues related to death and dying
  • Basic skills in art, crafts, and group facilitation
  • Strong organizational, planning, and scheduling skills
  • Openness to working with people of diverse cultures, beliefs, values, and lifestyles
  • Reliable vehicle for work-related travel
  • Current Driver's license
  • Clean background and driving record
  • Auto insurance coverage
