Job summary

Mercy Hospice is seeking a dedicated Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, patient-centered care for a defined group of patients in a community-based setting in St. Louis. You will perform personal care tasks, maintain a clean, safe environment, and support comfort through approved interventions under supervision.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, CPR certification, and CNA/Patient Care Tech training preferred. Homecare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Adjust level of assistance to patient needs while maintaining safety and comfort.
  • Support pain interventions within scope of certification and monitor patient comfort.
  • Observe and report concerns to ensure patient safety and well-being.

Maintains a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients.

Provides care that is respectful of age-specific needs and cultural diversity, including individual beliefs, lifestyles, and physical abilities. Supports patient comfort by assisting with approved pain interventions within scope of certification. Observes and reports concerns, including signs of abuse or neglect, and collaborates with the care team to ensure patient safety and well-being.

Adheres to Mercy’s mission, as well as all hospital safety and infection control policies, to maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and coworkers.

Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or GED, preferred

Licensure: Valid driver's license

Certifications

Certified Nursing Assistant and/or completion of the Mercy-approved Patient Care Tech Program. CPR certification required but can be obtained after hire

Experience

Experience in a homecare or nursing facility, preferred
