Job summary

TriHealth Hospice is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide to support patients and families in home and field-based settings. You will work under a nurse, provide daily living assistance, and offer companionship and emotional support during crises as part of a patient-centered care team.

The role requires travel to serve multiple counties and involves shift work including nights, with potential for generous benefits and growth opportunities within TriHealth’s hospice mission.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Reading and Math ability appropriate to the position.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Upon Hire Required

Responsibilities

  • Performs and documents basic patient care tasks under the direct supervision of a nurse, including bathing, feeding, assisted ambulation, providing companionship and emotional support, even during times of crisis; follows regulatory and organizational processes to promote a safe clinical environment.
  • Communicates effectively with the patient’s interdisciplinary team, including patient and family members.
  • Performs equipment and supply quality checks and reports problems/malfunctions appropriately.
  • Monitors supply rooms, restocks supplies as needed.
  • Complies with regulatory and organizational documentation requirements to ensure accurate reporting of clinical interactions and patient status; demonstrates basic understanding of technology for documentation purposes.

Location:

Hospice of Cincinnati – This position requires travel. This position serves Hamilton, Preble, Bulter, Brown, Clermont, Clinton and Warren

Work Schedule:
  • Part-time (24 hours weekly) 7pm-7:30am
  • Night Shift – weekend and holiday rotation

$4 Float Pool incentive/.72 per mile reimbursement

Job Overview:

Provides direct patient care to Hospice of Cincinnati patients under the direction of a nurse. The hospice aide will assist with, and/or perform basic activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, assistance with ambulation, etc., and will serve as a provider of companionship and emotional support, even during times of crisis. The position is responsible for knowing safety policies and following approved procedures.
