Join us!The hospice aide is a paraprofessional member of the interdisciplinary team group who works under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient's personal needs and to promote comfort. The hospice aide is responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations and documenting observations and care performed.

Job Description

This is a part time position that will be supporting the Evanston/Northbrook area.

In this role the Hospice Aide will:

  • Perform personal care needs including, but not limited to, bathing, back rubs, oral hygiene, hair care, change bed lines, assist with feeding, in accordance with Patient Plan of Care. If unable to perform a task, report to Case Manager immediately and document accordingly.
  • Meeting safety needs of patient and using equipment safely and properly.
  • Provide proper care and observation of patient's skin to prevent breakdown of tissue over bony prominence.
  • Assess and report on patient's condition and significant changes to the Case Manager.
  • Deliver supplies to patient as needed.
  • Complete documentation accurately, timely and in accordance with agency policy.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Current CNA certification in IL.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written, English) with residents and staff.
  • Genuine compassion and patience to senior adults.
  • CPR Card
  • Reliable Transportation

Compensation Pay Range:

$17.88 - $25.38

Reasonable Pay Estimate

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $17.88 - $25.38. There are numerous factors taken into consideration in determining the actual offered rate of pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and external equity.
