We are a Christian hospice committed to providing the highest quality clinical care infused with the love and salvation of Jesus Christ. Empyrean Hospice hires Hospice Aides to work under the supervision of a registered nurse, providing essential care to meet patients' personal needs and promote comfort. Our Hospice Aides are vital members of the interdisciplinary care team.

Salary or hourly rate listed is the base for this role; increases are commensurate with experience.

Position Overview – Hospice Aide
  • Represent Empyrean Hospice with professionalism and compassion
  • Serve as a member of the patient’s clinical care team
  • Promote quality, continuity, and safety in patient care
  • Perform personal care needs such as baths, oral hygiene, dressing, feeding assistance, ambulation, transfer/positioning, and light laundry
  • Observe and report patient conditions and requests, documenting all care and observations
  • Communicate positively and ethically within the home, maintaining confidentiality
  • Take and record vital signs as ordered, demonstrating competency
  • Adhere to documentation, care procedures, and professional conduct standards

Position Qualifications
  • Compassion, empathy, professionalism, and a desire to help others
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of hospice philosophy and issues related to death/dying
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to lift and transfer patients and supplies
  • Completion of at least 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training, including 16 hours of classroom prior to practical training
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Valid driver’s license, insured vehicle, and good driving record
  • Willingness to maintain knowledge of relevant information systems and software
