Job summary

VitalCaring in Alabama seeks a Hospice Aide/CNA to provide compassionate, patient-centered end-of-life care in patients' homes across Washington County (Chatom, Millry, Fruitdale, McIntosh).

You will assist with daily living activities, monitor comfort, document care, and coordinate with RNs and social workers. Must have CNA training and CPR certification; travel between homes is expected.

Qualifications

• Completion of state-required Hospice Aide/CNA training.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to follow care plans, document clearly, and communicate effectively.
• Willingness to travel between patient homes.
• Comfort caring for end-of-life patients and families.
• Strong empathy, compassion and emotional intelligence.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding).
• Support comfort through repositioning, mobility, and skin care.
• Provide light housekeeping to maintain a clean, safe home environment.
• Offer respite support to caregivers and families.
• Observe and report changes to the RN/Case Manager.
• Assist with vital signs and basic care tasks as directed.
• Document care accurately and timely.

What You’ll Do

• Document care accurately and timely
• Communicate with compassion and professionalism across patients, families, and team members
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in every interaction

What You Bring

• Completion of state-required Hospice Aide/CNA training (CNA certification if required by state)
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to follow care plans, document clearly, and communicate effectively
• Comfort working with end-of-life patients and families
• Strong empathy, compassion, and emotional intelligence
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between patient homes
