Job summary

Mission Hospice & Home Care in San Mateo County is seeking Certified HHA to join our hospice team. This role offers a stable schedule Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with competitive pay and generous benefits in a supportive work environment.

You will provide personal care, document observations, ensure safety, and monitor vital signs as outlined in the care plan. California HHA certification and a valid driver’s license are required to serve patients in the Peninsula and South Bay.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Home Health Aide (HHA) training program.
• Experience in hospice or home health preferred.
• Current certification to practice as a Home Health Aide in California.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care to hospice patients per care plan.
• Documenting observations and care performed.
• Ensuring safety and proper use of equipment.
• Taking and recording vitals as appropriate.

Mission Hospice & Home Care follows all CDPH vaccine requirements for healthcare personnel.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

• Performing personal care needs to hospice patients according to care plan or Supervisor, including feeding, dressing, baths, toileting, back rubs, personal hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linen, laundry, etc.
• Documenting observations and care performed.
• Meeting safety needs of patient and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, O2)
• Taking and recording oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure as appropriate.

Education/Experience

• Completion of an approved Home Health Aide (HHA) training program. HOME CARE AIDE (HCA) CERTIFICATION IS NOT ACCEPTED.
• Experience in hospice or home health preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Current certification to practice as a Home Health Aide in the State of California.
• Current California Driver’s License and automobile insurance that meets State of California requirements, if driving a car.

Pay Range

$26.30 - $31.00 hourly
