Job summary

Anchor Health is seeking a Hospice Aide to work under the supervision of a registered nurse and support patients with personal care and comfort needs.

The role requires earning CNA and HHA licenses, a compassionate demeanor, and strong communication with patients and families. You will perform baths, grooming, toileting assistance, mouth care, and help with daily activities in a respectful, ethical manner on a patient-by-patient basis.

Qualifications

• Must hold CNA certification and an active HHA license.
• Experience providing personal care and comfort to hospice patients is desirable.
• Strong communication with patients and families required.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (baths, grooming, oral hygiene) as assigned.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Support patient and family with compassionate, respectful care under RN supervision.
• Maintain confidential and ethical care practices.

The hospice aide is a paraprofessional member of the interdisciplinary group who works under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient's personal needs and to promote comfort.

Requirements

*** Must have both a CNA and HHA license ***

1. The Hospice Aide performs personal care needs after given a patient's assignment and attending to his/her requests promptly. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the Case Manager immediately.
2. Providing patient and family with positive communication techniques, within realm of ethical and respectful care, including confidentiality.
3. Giving personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linen as often as assigned.
4. The Hospice Aide assists in dressing and undressing patients as assigned.
5. Respectful of patient and family/caregiver environment and patient's personal needs.

Salary range - up to $28/hr based on experience
