Job summary

Mission Hospice & Home Care in San Mateo County is seeking a Hospice Aide to deliver direct patient care in the hospice house and field.

The role requires an approved HHA training program and active California HHA certification, with hospice/home health experience preferred. Monday–Friday schedule, competitive pay and generous benefits are offered.

Founded in 1979, we are a local, independent nonprofit that has provided thousands of patients and their families with physical, emotional, and spiritual support throughout the journey from a life-threatening diagnosis through death and bereavement.

We are currently seeking a Hospice Aide who will be responsible for providing direct patient care to hospice patients at our Hospice House and in the field.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday; 8:30am - 5:00pm

San Mateo County

_ Mission Hospice & Home Care follows all CDPH vaccine requirements for healthcare personnel. _

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Performing personal care needs to hospice patients according to care plan or Supervisor, including feeding, dressing, baths, toileting, back rubs, personal hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linen, laundry, etc.
• Documenting observations and care performed.
• Meeting safety needs of patient and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, O2)
• Taking and recording oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure as appropriate.

Education/Experience:

• Completion of an approved Home Health Aide (HHA) training program. HOME CARE AIDE (HCA) CERTIFICATION IS NOT ACCEPTED.
• Experience in hospice or home health preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Current certification to practice as a Home Health Aide in the State of California.
• Current California Driver’s License and automobile insurance that meets State of California requirements, if driving a car.

Pay Range:
$26.30 - $31.00 hourly
