Job summary

RON SUNSHINE ASSOCIATES LLC is seeking a compassionate Hospice Nurse (LPN or RN) for a 7on/7off on-call schedule in the East Kansas City Metro area. Responsibilities include after-hours patient care, symptom management, and family teaching within home or facility settings.

You will join a dedicated hospice team, using community resources to support patients and families after normal business hours. Licensure in MO or KS and CPR are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide evening and weekend hospice nursing care via calls, visits, or facility visits.

• Manage symptoms, educate families, and document care plans.
• Respond to patient needs by telephone and in-home visits as scheduled.

HIRING: Hospice Licensed Practical Nurse of Registered Nurse

Schedule:

Monday - Thursday 5PM-8AM

Friday 5PM-Monday 8AM (Continuous)

Territory: East Kansas City Metro territory covering approximately a 30-mile radius: Jackson County, and portions of Clay, Lafayette, Cass, Ray and Johnson counties; on-call clinicians may be dispatched anywhere within the service area.

MARY:

The 7on/7off hospice nurse supports the patient needs of the agency in the evening during the weekdays and over the weekend. The professional nurse builds from the resources of the community to plan and direct services to meet the needs of individual and families within their homes and communities after normal business hours.

We are looking for a compassionate, talented and experienced Hospice Nurse (LPN or RN) that is eager to join an exciting organization and become part of our Hospice team.

The Hospice Nurse provides service for the personal, physical, emotional and social needs of the patient-family unit. Hospice Nurse will be responsible for evaluating and responding to the patient’s/caregiver’s needs via telephone contact, home visits, and/or facility visits for assessment, symptom management, treatment, teaching and coordination of care.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Active Nursing License in the state of MO / KS
• Maintains an active CPR certification.
• At least 2-5 years of experience in hospice, palliative care and/or training in end-of-life care.
• Knowledge of hospice care and the services provided to patient and family/caregiver through an interdisciplinary group.
• Demonstrate organizational skills.
• Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate analytical skills when problem-solving.
• Demonstrate high attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
