Job Description
PIRTEK is hiring for a Hose Assembly & Installation Technician to service, assemble, and install hydraulic and industrial hoses for a diverse customer base in varying environmental conditions. This is a messy job that requires manual labor and on-call hours (on-call with incentive pay), so dedication and grit is essential.
We are looking for highly driven and self-sufficient individuals with excellent communication and customer service skills. Our most successful Technicians are natural problem solvers, mechanically inclined, enjoy working with their hands, and show passion and perseverance through their work.
Each Hose Assembly & Installation Technician is provided complete training on industry knowledge, PIRTEK processes, safety standards, and how to operate your purpose-built mobile service unit. PIRTEK also provides support through a 24/7 hotline for Technicians to ask technical questions.
Responsibilities
· Adhere to all industry and PIRTEK safety standards · Carry out service calls & customer acquisition visits in your local area · Identify faulty hoses and/ or hose assemblies to service the customers’ needs · Remove worn or broken hoses before fabricating and installing the new replacement · Ensure oil spills/ environmental contaminants, due to hose failure and/ or repair, are cleaned or contained to the customer’s satisfaction (as well as federal, state, and local regulations)
· Input service details into the online database to create accurate invoices · Develop relationships with new and existing customers · Maintain mobile service unit, tools, and equipment · Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving issues on-site and conducting frequent follow-up visits · Participate in the rotating On-Call schedule · Perform other related duties as assigned
Work Environment
You will be operating out of a PIRTEK Service & Supply Center in a purpose-built mobile service unit – a workshop-van that is outfitted with all the tools and machinery needed to successfully service your local area. · Territory-based service areas · Service locations may differ in terrain, noise level, temperature, common amenities available, etc. · Oil, grease, lubricant, and other “messy” substances are frequently used · You may be required to travel for training initiatives, at no cost to you
Skills & Abilities Needed
· Sit, stand, kneel, bend, and/or stoop from moderate to extended periods · Safely use ladders, step-ups, stairs, etc. · Mechanically inclined – consistent use of hand tools & specialized equipment is required · Good communication skills (verbal and written) · Self-motivated & positive attitude through difficult jobs · Able to work individually and as a team · Lift up to 50 pounds · Can safely & lawfully drive a large work van
Qualifications
· High School diploma or GED · Driver’s License with clean driving record · Experience in industrial development & construction, automobile/ marine/ field mechanics, or a related industry is a plus
· Ability to pass a background check & drug screening
