Job Description

The selected candidate's primary responsibilities will be to provide design, installation, operations, maintenance, system engineering, and sustainment engineering for the Head of State network of a government agency. Responsibilities include designing, planning, coordinating, and installing secure communications links to support Senior Executives, the National Security Council, and others as directed. The role involves acquiring and managing all Department of Defense and commercial telecommunications connectivity supporting the Head of State circuits worldwide, providing real-time systems management control for all circuits and secure communications globally, establishing maintenance and operating guidelines for secure links between the U.S. and host nations, and managing COMSEC material and equipment.

This position is located in Washington DC. No relocation assistance is provided; applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to Washington DC or surrounding areas.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or related discipline with 8 years of related experience, or a high school diploma with at least 10 years of related experience.
  2. Security+ certification per DOD 8570 instruction.
  3. Knowledge of Wide Area Networks and secure voice assets configuration (e.g., vIPer phones).
  4. IP network experience, including VoIP and BoIP.
  5. Familiarity with test equipment such as O-scope, Fireberd, and transmission test sets.
  6. Ability to analyze systems with complex technologies, familiarity with patch panels, and knowledge of telecommunications fundamentals.
  7. Self-reliant with the ability to perform technical maintenance independently.
  8. Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting professionally with military officers and civilian officials.
  9. Experience in quality assurance for telecommunications systems, training, and a positive service-oriented attitude.
  10. Military experience and knowledge of customs and courtesies are preferred.
  11. Experience with enterprise IP networks, Cisco IP Systems, and related policies and procedures.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  1. Network+ certification per DOD 8570 instruction.
  2. Experience in developing and delivering briefings.
  3. Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCP, MCS) and Cisco certifications (CCNA/CCNP).

Pay Information

Salary range: $92,290 - $156,860. Salaries are determined based on various factors including skills, education, experience, and market conditions.
