Job summary

Blooms Horticulture, part of HOME OF HOPE, seeks a Horticulture Manager to oversee greenhouse and garden operations year-round. The role includes producing plants and vegetables, managing staff and participants, and assisting with sales at Route 66 Mercantile and farmers markets.

The ideal candidate will enjoy outdoor work, be organized, and pride themselves on quality production. Experience in greenhouse/nursery operations and purchasing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in horticulture, gardening, landscaping, agriculture, greenhouse production, or related fields.
• Ability to perform hands-on physical work outdoors.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee annual and seasonal plant production.
• Start seeds, propagate, transplant, pot, water, fertilize, prune and care for plants.
• Monitor plant health for pests and diseases; maintain greenhouse areas and equipment.
• Coordinate production of vegetables and produce; assist with sales and merchandising.
• Supervise staff and participants; provide direction and safe, productive work environment.
• Assist with purchasing, inventory, pricing, and retail sales.
