Job summary

Qualifications

• Must meet eligibility requirements for Teacher Certificate/License for career-tech in horticulture.
• Must have a baccalaureate degree or less per OEA agreement; see OEA.
• Applicant must successfully obtain Teacher Certificate or License prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction in turf management, landscaping, and related subjects.
• Assesses educational needs of inmates.
• Develops lesson plans addressing those needs with assignments and training.
• Provides instruction and individual assistance.
• Administers, scores and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators.
• Maintains discipline and/or security.
• Counsels students on performance, behavior, and personal issues.
• Attends meetings as required.
• Prepares enrollment, grades, and progress reports.
• Inventories and orders supplies and materials.
• Researches, selects, and recommends new teaching materials.
• Attends in-service trainings and workshops for professional development.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
