Are you ready to trade in ornamental maintenance for meaningful work restoring ecosystems and teaching clients how to grow nutrient-dense food at home?

JoinReimagined Roots, a regenerative landscaping company on a mission to replace resource-intensive grass lawns and ornamental gardens with abundant, living ecosystems. We’re searching for aHorticultural Maintenance Leadwho’s passionate, independent, and deeply knowledgeable aboutnative plants, food gardens, and ecological care.

About the Work

You’ll be the hands, eyes, and heart of our garden maintenance efforts—working independently to steward a variety of vibrant gardens across Central Massachusetts. From native pollinator habitats to raised vegetable beds and food forests, your work will make an immediate and tangible impact.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Expert-levelplant care: weeding, watering, deadheading, pruning, and transplanting
  • Application oforganic fertilizers, compost, and compost tea
  • Regularedits and improvementsto gardens (removing underperformers, enhancing biodiversity, reshaping beds)
  • Identifying and managing pest, disease, or nutrient issues—organically and holistically
  • Maintaining walkways, mulching, and supporting healthy soil systems
  • Documenting and communicating your work clearly with our team and clients
  • Occasionally supporting small install projects (e.g., dividing plants, seeding native meadows, planting food crops)
  • Have 2+ years of hands-on gardening or ecological landscaping experience
  • Are confident identifying bothnative and invasive plantsof New England
  • Are deeply familiar withvegetable gardens and seasonal food production
  • Have excellent judgment and can workindependently in the field
  • Can performstrenuous outdoor laborin all conditions, across varied terrain
  • Are organized, communicative, and love problem-solving in dynamic environments

Bonus Points For:

  • Knowledge of rain gardens, permaculture principles, or regenerative agriculture
  • Experience with small power tools (trimmers, mowers, etc.)
  • Willingness to teach others or lead a small team as we grow
  • Enthusiasm for composting, plant propagation, and ecosystem restoration

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
