Job description

POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The Horse Camp Counselor is for campers assigned to him or her each week. Two male and two female needed.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Lead assigned campers in daily camp activities.
  2. Lead campers in camp chores.
  3. Make sure campers get to each scheduled camp activity safely.
  4. Lead and participate in group devotion times.
  5. Manage camper behavior.
  6. Practice and enforce all camp safety regulations and emergency procedures.
  7. Participate in camp-wide activities.
  8. Responsible for the health and well-being of assigned campers.
  9. Expected to stay with your campers the entire camp including activities unless leadership has given other job assignments.
  10. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Actively live and practice the Christian faith and live a lifestyle in accordance with the Statement of Faith and Beliefs detailed on the Beartooth Christian Camp website.
  2. Must be 18 years of age or older.
  3. Excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task and manage a variety of tasks.
  4. Must be able to interact with all age levels.
  5. Ability to create and work within a Christian environment so that each camper has the opportunity for spiritual growth.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills to be able to communicate in a positive manner with campers and staff.
  7. Interest in children and considerable evidence of emotional maturity, good moral character, judgement, integrity, and leadership capability.
  8. CPR and First Aid Certification (provided).
  9. Criminal Background Check (provided).
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Experience with horses preferred but not required.
  2. Willingness to learn about horses preferred but not required.
