The position runs 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday, with responsibility for quality, tool selection, and proactive participation in process improvements. Candidates should have 2+ years in CNC machining and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in CNC machining is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in CNC machining.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from mechanical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blueprints and part drawings.
• Loads and unloads raw materials safely and efficiently.
• Operates Haas or Fanuc CNC lathes and mills with minimal supervision.
• Uses gages and measuring instruments to verify tolerances.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the machine shop.
• Participates in process improvement and adheres to ISO requirements.

Job Summary

TheCNC Horizontal Machinist II operates under minimal supervision, operating CNC (computer numerical controlled) machinery to manufacture metallic and non-metallic parts.

Shift Hours:7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday-Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
• Reads and interprets blueprints.
• Properly and safely loads and unloads raw materials.
• Proficient in the use of measuring instruments.
• Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
• Ability to power on and operate CNC lathes and mills with minimal assistance. Must be self-sufficient.
• Must be familiar with Haas and Fanuc Controls.
• Understands and can function using M and G codes.
• Must demonstrate a basic understanding of cutting tools.
• Properly chooses/uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling.
• Understands and can perform basic tool wear offsets.
• Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.
• Assists in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work environment.
• Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department.
• Basic understanding and ability to follow manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures.
• Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
• Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management.
• Attends scheduled meetings and actively participates by providing meaningful input.
• Is flexible with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances warrant.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach during the duration of shift, 8-10 hours.
• Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend.
• Frequently required to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Understands and observes all necessary safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as designated in the specific work area assigned.
• This position requires working night shifts.
• The work environment includes exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.

Compensation:Pay: $30 - 35 Hourly (final rate is determined based on experience).
