Shadow Rock Elementary School is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable and have a strong desire to help students learn. The primary responsibility is to implement, deliver, and promote high academic expectations to all students. The candidate must work collaboratively with team members and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Title: Paraprofessional

Supports teachers in meeting students' educational, behavioral, and social-emotional needs in the classroom and community.

Essential Job Duties
  • Assists students with physical needs including feeding, toileting, lifting, and mobility.
  • Assists students with health care procedures including hygiene and medications as needed for daily care.
  • Provides small group and/or individualized instruction to students, in accordance with lesson plans developed by the teacher.
  • Monitors students before and after school and during other non-instructional transitional periods.
  • Assists teachers with classroom management activities to ensure effective learning environments.
  • Assists with student performance assessment and recordkeeping tasks.
  • Helps develop and organize instructional materials for students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and passing the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment, required.
  • OR an Associate degree or higher from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved college or university.
  • OR at least 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of college courses with a GPA of 2.0 or higher from an approved institution.

Certificates, Licenses, or Permits

  • Must obtain a valid Professional Standards Commission approved paraprofessional certificate.
