Job summary

Pope John Paul II Regional Catholic Elementary School is seeking an enthusiastic educator to join our faculty as a 5th-8th Grade Honors Math Teacher. The ideal candidate will foster growth mindset, mathematical rigor, and problem‑solving for advanced learners while integrating Catholic values in daily instruction.

Responsibilities include delivering high‑quality math instruction, differentiating for gifted learners, and using data to guide planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Middle Level Mathematics Education, Secondary Mathematics, or Elementary Education with a concentration/endorsement in Mathematics (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid State Teaching Certificate in Middle School Math (Grades 4-8) or Secondary Mathematics (Grades 7-12), or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of successful middle school teaching experience, with proven expertise in advanced/honors mathematics curricula.
• Must pass all mandated background checks and Safe Environment training prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Integrate Catholic values into daily instruction and school life.
• Lead daily prayer, Liturgies, and spiritual retreats.
• Plan and deliver rigorous mathematics instruction for grades 5–8 (Advanced Arithmetic to Geometry readiness).
• Differentiate instruction for gifted learners and assess progress with formative/summative tools.
• Use data from assessments to guide instructional decisions and placement exams preparation.
• Collaborate with grade teams, learning supports, and other math teachers for vertical alignment.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and Diocesan opportunities.
