Job summary

East Texas A&M University invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty member in the Honors College to teach undergraduate courses on-campus during day and/or evening. The candidate will develop syllabi, plan lectures, and mentor students within the Honors Program.

A Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours or a terminal degree is required; experience teaching first-time college students is preferred; strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the field or a terminal degree.
• Experience: Experience teaching first-time college students (FTIC) or transfer students.
• Knowledge/Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability: Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Other: Security-sensitive employment and credential verification.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to seven semester credit hours (up to two courses) in the Honors College on campus during day and/or evening as needed.
• Develop and manage the class syllabus meeting department and college standards.
• Plan and create lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments.
• Assess grades based on participation, performance, assignments, and exams.
• Mentor students as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
