Job summary

Saint Cyr Partners is seeking an experienced Honing Technician to join a precision–machining client. You will set up and operate manual honing equipment to produce components meeting exact tolerances and surface finish standards.

Requires attention to detail and the ability to inspect parts with precision measuring tools. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, selecting honing stones and fixtures, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with engineering and quality teams to hit production

Qualifications

• 1+ years of honing or precision machining experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with extremely tight tolerances and precision measurement.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual honing machines.
• Produce components to extremely tight tolerances (up to 0.0001–0.0002").
• Hone aluminum, steel, titanium, plastics, and specialty alloys.
• Select proper honing stones, abrasives, tooling, and fixtures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, dial bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Verify quality, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet production goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Compensation

Starting at$32.00+/hr(based on experience)

Position Summary

The Honing Technician will be responsible for setting up and operating manual honing equipment to manufacture precision components that meet exact dimensional tolerances and superior surface finish requirements. This position requires strong machining skills, attention to detail, and the ability to inspect parts using precision measuring equipment.
