Job summary

Hippo is seeking a Homeowner Product Analyst to drive profitable growth of the HO3 line. You will collaborate with Actuarial, Sales, Distribution, and Engineering to translate business needs into clear engineering deliverables to achieve targets.

You will manage insurance business files, filings, system requirements, and JIRA workflows, while analyzing data and improving rates and forms. A Bachelor's degree and at least three years in underwriting, product, pricing, or finance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or analytical discipline.
• At least three years of experience in underwriting, product, pricing, or finance.
• Ability to partner with actuary, underwriting, engineering and other stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Create, own and manage insurance business engineering files as the authoritative source of truth.
• Update product and rating plan filings and related internal/external documents.
• Assist with state filing changes and system enhancements; create and manage JIRA tickets.
• Conduct post-production testing of updated rates and forms and develop analytical reports.
• Support defect resolution by policy lookups and problem solving.

About You

We are looking for a Homeowner Product Analyst who will be accountable for the profitable growth of the HO3 line of business. This position will work closely with Actuarial, Sales and Distribution, and Engineering to develop line of business and state specific strategies and to accurately portray business project needs into clear engineering deliverables to achieve growth and profit targets.

What You'll Do

• Work with other members of the Product Team with assigned work aimed at returning profitable growth to states and lines of business at Hippo.
• Create, Own and Manage insurance business engineering files as the authoritative source of truth
• Update various internal and external documents which outline our Product and Rating Plans
• Help create our filed rate, rule, and form filings to Departments of Insurance
• Document state filing changes and system enhancements into well-defined system requirements
• Create and manage JIRA tickets for insurance business team projects
• Conduct post-production testing of updated rates and forms
• Create and update various analytical reports
• Assist with defect resolution by performing individual policy look ups and problem solving

Must Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a business or analytical discipline
• At least three years of experience in a related position (underwriting, product, pricing, finance, etc.)
• Ability to partner with actuary, underwriting, engineering and other stakeholders in development of assigned work
• Strong analytical skills, advanced proficiency in Excel

Nice to Haves

• Prior experience with a Top 20 Personal Lines Homeowners writer
• Prior Homeowner Insurance experience
• A solid understanding of Personal Lines Insurance
• Experience with Jira, Confluence
