Job summary

The Homemaker Companion role in Winston-Salem, NC offers a flexible schedule and a supportive team environment. You will provide non-medical in-home care, assist with daily activities, and accompany clients to appointments as needed.

A sign-on bonus and ongoing training help you grow with a locally owned franchise. Responsibilities include light housekeeping, meal prep, and emotional support to elderly clients, with paid travel time between visits.

Qualifications

• Compassion for the elderly and dedication to quality care.
• Must be 18 years or older with reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job.
• Completion of a written Competency Evaluation is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, healthy, clean environment with light housekeeping and meal preparation.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to clients in their homes.
• Handle light housekeeping tasks like sweeping, laundry, and changing linens.
• Monitor clients, report developments per agency policy, and run errands with/for clients.
• Maintain client safety and comfort during visits and coordinate with franchise management as needed.

Job Description

• Provides for the maintenance of a safe, healthy and clean environment. Performs various light housekeeping tasks, meal preparation and companionship activities for clients in their residences.
• Handling basic light housekeeping, such as sweeping, changing bed linens, laundry and organizing.
• Monitoring clients, recording and reporting any developments or concerns to appropriate per agency policy.
• Handling errands for or with client, such as grocery shopping and appointments.
• Provide emotional support for clients as they heal or cope with health conditions.
