Job summary

Jewish Family Service of Colorado seeks a part-time in-home housekeeping/caretaking aide to support seniors, adults with disabilities, or those with serious illnesses in the Boulder area. Duties include light housekeeping, laundry, meal prep, errands, and client advocacy on behalf of JFS.

Must live in Boulder area and complete vaccination series. Responsibilities include dusting, vacuuming, kitchen and bath cleaning, linen changes, and shopping as needed.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required or equivalent.
• Preferred: housekeeping/cleaning in apartments and private homes.
• Attention to detail and timeliness essential.

Salary

Salary: $23.00 per hour

Job Type: Part-time

15 hours per week (2 days per week, including Friday)

Position Summary

Provide in-home housekeeping and/or caretaking services to seniors, adults with disabilities, or adults with serious illnesses in the Boulder area. These services may include light housekeeping, laundry, simple meal preparation, cleanup, and running errands. Represent Jewish Family Service in the homes of clients and the community.

Responsibilities

Provide services to older, disabled, and/or seriously ill clients in their homes, including the following:

• Dusting
• Vacuuming
• Cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms (including floors)
• Laundry
• Linen changing
• Supplemental grocery shopping and light meal preparation as needed

Other

• Communicate regularly with the Case Manager and supervisor, promptly reporting any client problems or concerns.
• Attend scheduled supervisory meetings and other mandatory agency meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

• High School/GED.

Experience

• Preferred: housekeeping/cleaning in apartments and private homes.

Physical Requirements

• Requires the ability to adequately perform homemaking tasks, i.e., cleaning, laundry, light meal preparation, and clean-up, errands, etc.
• Must have the physical ability necessary to perform required tasks.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds to perform tasks such as carrying bags of groceries, moving light furniture, etc.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and perform push/pull motions such as sweeping, mopping, using vacuum cleaners, dusting furniture, etc.
• Must be able to grasp or hold items such as washcloths, dust cloths, dishes, clothing, etc.

Other

• Attention to detail and timeliness are essential.
• Ability to communicate by phone.
• Ability to comprehend and complete daily logs, delivery logs, mileage sheets, and schedules.
• Must have own transportation, valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance coverage.
• Understanding of aging and disabilities.
