Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) seeks a Modeling & Simulation Analyst to develop and analyze models of homeland defense technology systems for test and evaluation.

You will support CBP by evaluating communications, sensors, and surveillance networks, ensuring alignment with DHS directives and operational requirements. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 3+ years of M&S experience, with onsite/hybrid work in the DC area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years in modeling, simulation, RF analysis, or related systems engineering.
• Hands-on experience modeling hardware/software systems for security or border ops.
• Familiarity with DHS/CBP environments.
• Ability to obtain a CBP Background Investigation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and analyze models and simulations of homeland defense tech systems.
• Focus on communications, sensor, and surveillance systems for DHS requirements.
• Align M&S with DHS Directive 026-06 and CBP mission needs.
• Document model assumptions, analyses, and recommendations.
• Prepare analysis reports and briefings for CBP leadership.
• Collaborate with CBP officers, TE engineers, and DHS components.
• Stay current with trends in DHS mission modeling.
