Job summary

First Day Homecare - Michigan is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to provide pediatric private duty nursing. You will perform skilled nursing tasks under physician orders and deliver care in the client’s home, ensuring safety and adherence to the care plan.

This role requires state licensure, CPR, and a reliable vehicle. The position offers flexible scheduling, weekly pay, paid sick time, and 401(k) matching, supporting a stable and family-centered caregiving environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current LPN license in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Follows orders and client care plan; documents changes in medical records.
• Performs personal care, monitoring, medication administration, and client teaching.
• Handles emergency interventions and pediatric-specific tasks (e.g., tracheostomy care, ventilator management, tube feedings).
• Collaborates with the client’s care team and coordinates care with agency staff.
• Maintains safety and complies with agency policies and payor/accreditation standards.
• Attends agency meetings and participates in care coordination.
• Performs other related duties as needed.

Job Summary

Performs skilled nursing functions in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and within the guidelines of professional standards and the Nurse Practice Act. All nursing services provided will be under the direction of medical practitioner (MD, DO, NP, PA, etc.) orders.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
