Job summary

Our Agency is seeking compassionate Homemakers / Home Care Aides to help clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes. You will perform housekeeping, meal prep, errands, transportation, companionship, and respite support as outlined in the care plan.

You will report to the Supervisor and work with a team that values its staff. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license and insurance, good physical health, and passing the agency exam.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must pass agency exam with score 75% or higher.
• In good physical health to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal planning and meal preparation.
• Perform light housekeeping (beds, dusting, vacuuming, floors).
• Laundry and laundry-related tasks.
• Assist with essential shopping and errands per care plan.
• Escort clients to medical appointments and outings as specified.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Follow the written care plan and agency policies.
• Observe changes in client condition and report to Supervisor.
• Complete and maintain records of daily activities and hours.

Position Summary

Homemakers provide essential in-home support to individuals who need assistance due to age, illness, disability, or other health-related conditions. Services may include housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, errands, transportation, companionship, and respite support.

Our Homemakers play an important role in improving the quality of life of our clients by delivering care in a respectful, compassionate, and professional manner, in accordance with agency policies and industry standards.

Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with meal planning and meal preparation
• Perform light housekeeping duties such as:
• Making and changing beds
• Dusting
• Vacuuming
• Washing floors
• Cleaning kitchens and bathrooms
• Laundry
• Assist with essential shopping and errands in accordance with the care plan
• Handle client funds for approved errands when authorized and supervised
• Support clients in following written special diet plans as outlined in the care plan
• Escort clients to medical appointments, shopping trips, errands, and outings as specified in the care plan
• Provide companionship, friendship, and emotional supportAssist clients with communication needs, including writing or typing correspondence and researching information
• Follow the written care plan and all agency policies and procedures
• Observe changes in the client’s condition and report concerns to the Supervisor
• Complete and maintain accurate records of daily activities, observations, and service hours
• Attend orientation, in-service training, and staff meetings
• Maintain professional communication with Supervisors and co-workers
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities

The homemaker must pass agency exam with 75% or better.

In good physical health.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Related training or experience is a plus

Valid driver’s license required

Valid automobile insurance required

Must be in good physical health

Must pass agency exam with a score of 75% or higher
