Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 is seeking Home Bound Tutors to provide educational services to students unable to attend school due to medical conditions. Tutors will work an average of 5-10 hours per week, offering instruction at students’ homes. Candidates must possess a valid Illinois Professional Educators Teaching License and have the ability to communicate effectively. The Homebound Services program provides tutoring for students whose classroom activities have been disrupted by a medical condition. Homebound services are provided to a student when a licensed medical physician determines that the student will be out of school due to a medical condition for a minimum of two consecutive weeks or more or on an ongoing intermittent basis, with the expectation to equal or exceed 10 school days during one school year. Homebound services provide instruction at home by an Illinois certified licensed teacher. The goal of Homebound Services is to afford the student learning opportunities at the same grade level and is designed to prepare the student to return to the classroom upon recovery.
