Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate licencing the individual to teach in the specified WV subject areas (Secondary content 5-12 or 5-AD preferred).
• Criminal background check required under WV Code.
• Meet the qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements lesson plans showing evidence of preparation and alignment to WV content standards.
• Uses technology to enhance teaching and learning.
• Delivers rigorous instruction and accommodates different learning styles.
• Prepares lessons reflecting accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
• Presents subject matter according to WVDE guidelines and board policies.
• Plans and uses instructional materials and equipment to meet student needs.
• Assesses student learning and uses results to support school-wide goals.
• Works with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Maintains open communication with parents and staff to support student learning.
• Assumes responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
