Job summary

Mahomet-Seymour CUSD #3 is seeking a qualified Homebound Instructor to provide individualized instruction to a high school student who cannot attend school due to medical or approved reasons. Instruction may be delivered virtually and will align with district curriculum to maintain academic progress.

The role is part-time (approximately 5-10 hours per week) with additional prep time. The ideal candidate holds an Illinois PEL with a special education endorsement and can collaborate with teachers

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate special education endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction in core content areas based on student needs and assigned grade level/coursework.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and building administration to ensure continuity of instruction.
• Adapt lessons and materials to meet individual student needs.
• Monitor student progress and communicate updates to school staff.
• Maintain accurate records of instructional time and student performance.
• Establish and maintain a positive, supportive learning environment in a home or agreed-upon setting.
• Follow district procedures and confidentiality requirements.

Description: Mahomet-Seymour CUSD #3 is seeking a qualified Homebound Instructor to provide individualized instruction to a student at the High School who is unable to attend school due to medical or other approved reasons. The Homebound Instructor will deliver instruction aligned to district curriculum and support students in maintaining academic progress during their absence. Instruction may be done virtually. Approximately 5-10 hours per week plus additional prep time.
