Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Byhalia, Mississippi. You will operate assigned sleeper units, deliver to multiple states, and enjoy weekly pay, a sign-on bonus, and comprehensive benefits. Home for resets with paid training and a strong safety culture.

Trucks are newer, with 24/7 roadside support, and Rider emphasizes safety decisions and a strong, inclusive community. Expect a competitive weekly earnings base plus bonuses and allowances.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Provide valid Class A CDL with endorsements.
• Pass Ryder drug test and background checks.
• Pass DOT physical and Ryder road test.
• Verifiable CDL experience: 9 months / 2 years / 5 years per the last 3/5/10 years.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply policies and regulations.
• Able to travel to MS and surrounding states.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal/state laws and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate logs and records.
• Load/unload freight as required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Sign On Bonus: $5,000 Paid 1/2 at 30 days 1/2 at 90 days
• Minimum Weekly Guarantee: $1657.64
• Paid Training
• Over the road and high touch freight experience required
• Schedule: Home For Resets
• Start Time: Varies based on HOS

Routes and Trucks

• Deliver SOLOTo: AL, AR, FL, KY, MS, LA, TN, IN, MO and KS
• May Travel to other states to work at customer Location
• Route: Home For Resets
• Tractor Type: Assigned Sleeper Unit

• Freight: Touch – Tires

Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and Company Drivers fuel up the trucks at over 800 Maintenance Facilities Nationwide.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Performs other duties as assigned
