Job summary

Family Centered Services is hiring a Family Support Specialist / Family Resource Specialist to work with families in Grant County, Indiana. The role focuses on helping parents and young children build strong relationships, develop parenting skills, identify goals, and connect with community resources in home settings.

The position requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to manage a caseload. Travel within Grant County and a valid Indiana driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with or providing services to young children and their parents.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good organization, documentation, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license.
• Reliable vehicle and automobile insurance.
• Willingness to travel locally throughout Grant County.
• Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends based on family needs.

Responsibilities

• Conducting interviews and screenings with parents to determine eligibility for Healthy Families services
• Building trusting, supportive relationships with families through home-based visits
• Helping parents strengthen parenting skills and positive parent-child interactions
• Assisting families with setting goals and developing practical action plans
• Connecting families with healthcare providers, community agencies, and other needed resources
• Monitoring and documenting infant and child growth and development
• Identifying family needs and potential safety concerns and consulting with your supervisor as appropriate
• Maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential case documentation
• Participating in supervision, training, professional development, and team activities
