Job summary

AdaptHealth LLC is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician to support patients with home medical equipment, ensuring safe transfer of care from facility to home or clinic. You will deliver, set up, and service respiratory and HME equipment while educating patients and caregivers for safe operation.

Responsibilities include assessing patients, performing basic maintenance, documenting activities, and ensuring HIPAA and infection control standards are met. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service, field-based, or healthcare experience preferred.
• One year of healthcare technician, military service, delivery/field service with customer service interaction or related experience preferred.
• Senior level requires two years of relevant experience, including one year in a similar role.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, set up, and support respiratory and home medical equipment.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe use, care, and troubleshooting.
• Respond to patient equipment issues, including under emergency conditions when required.
• Maintain home oxygen systems through scheduled patient visits.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and infection control standards, including proper use of PPE.
• Deliver, set up, retrieve, clean, and maintain equipment in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
• Process orders and complete documentation accurately and timely to support patient care and reimbursement.
• Maintain basic reimbursement knowledge to ensure proper billing for equipment and services.
• Safely operate and maintain a company vehicle.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with all company policies and compliance program requirements.
• Complete required compliance training and participate in on call rotation as scheduled.
