Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician to deliver, set up, and support respiratory and home medical equipment in patients' homes, clinics, and care settings. You will educate patients and caregivers, ensure safety, comfort, and independence, and participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.

The role emphasizes field-based service, adherence to HIPAA, and safe operation of equipment with a focus on quality patient care and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service, field-based, delivery, or healthcare experience preferred.
• 1 year of healthcare technician, military service, delivery/field service with customer service interaction or related experience preferred.
• Senior level requires two (2) years of relevant experience, including one (1) year in a similar role.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of HME products, services, and applicable regulations.
• Perform patient assessments and re-assessments to support ongoing care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe use, care, and troubleshooting of respiratory and HME equipment.
• Respond to patient equipment issues, including under emergency conditions when required.
• Maintain home oxygen systems through scheduled patient visits.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and infection control standards, including PPE use.
• Deliver, set up, retrieve, clean, and maintain equipment per policies and safety standards.
• Complete required compliance training and participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
