Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician to deliver, set up, and service respiratory and home medical equipment in patients’ homes and field settings. You will educate patients and caregivers to ensure safe use and independence, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and high standards of safety.

The role is primarily field-based with daily home visits and on-call rotation in the assigned area. Strong customer service or healthcare experience is valued, and a valid driver’s license is

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Field-based work experience is beneficial.
• Delivery or logistics exposure a plus.
• Healthcare-related experience helps with equipment handling.

Responsibilities

• Learn and update knowledge of HME products and regulations.
• Conduct patient assessments to guide ongoing care.
• Educate patients on safe use and care of respiratory equipment.
• Address equipment issues, including emergencies when needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on devices.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Deliver, set up, and retrieve equipment per policy.
• Document orders accurately to support care and billing.
• Operate a company vehicle safely and responsibly.
• Participate in quality improvement and mandatory trainings.
