Job summary

TowneBank Mortgage is seeking a mortgage loan officer to originate loans and deliver a personalized experience to borrowers in a supportive team environment. You will interview applicants, collect documentation, and guide them through pre-qualification and pre-approval processes.

The role requires an active NMLS, strong sales history, and knowledge of VA/FHA/conventional VHDA guidelines, with a focus on referrals and compliance.

Qualifications

• Active NMLS# is required.
• At least 1 year originations for VA, FHA, Conventional and VHDA loans.
• Proven sales record based on closed loan production.
• Current sources of referral business for purchases.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Follows FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, VA and VHDA underwriting guidelines.
• Demonstrates integrity, self-motivation, and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Originates mortgage loans in compliance with policy.
• Interview applicants and pre-qualify/pre-approve.
• Collects application data and disclosures.
• Secure pricing and quotes rates with Secondary Marketing.
• Manage loan pipeline and communicate status to parties.
• Mentor other Loan Officers and share industry trends.
• Attend Mortgage-related events and office meetings.
• Represent bank in community outreach.
