CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:

DUTIES:

The assigned instructor will be responsible for providing instruction to a student who is unable to participate in his/her current educational program due to medical or discipline reasons. The times at which such instruction is provided is arranged by the home instructor and the parent/guardian, but can only occur on days when school is in session [weekends and holidays are prohibited]. The instructor is responsible for communicating with the teacher of record on a regular basis regarding curricular expectations, assignments and grading.

HOURS/WEEK:

Generally, this is a part-time position. The number of students you are teaching will determine your schedule. If you have only one student, you may be teaching only a few hours per day.Due to the ever-changing need for Home Instruction, there isno guaranteeof a set amount of hours per week. Each school is responsible for assigning Home Instructors for their students. Depending on your certification area and WCSD's need, you may be called often or only occasionally.
