Job summary

Infusion Services of Tacoma seeks a dedicated Infusion Pharmacist to manage the safe preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of infusion therapies for diverse patient populations. Qualifications

• Pharmacists must have infusion therapy management, sterile compounding, dose calculation and medication monitoring.
• Patient care and communication skills including counseling, education, empathy and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Organizational/technical skills: accurate documentation, time management, inventory control, and comfort using EHRs and pharmacy systems.
• Quality and safety focus: adherence to regulatory standards, infection control, and participation in continuous improvement.
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent; active and unrestricted WA license required.
• Prior infusion/hospital/home infusion experience preferred.
• Knowledge of autoimmune, immunology, and chronic disease management; ability to interpret labs and adjust therapy.

Role Description

The Infusion Pharmacist is a full-time, on-site role based near Kent, WA, responsible for overseeing the safe preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of infusion therapies for diverse patient populations. This role includes verifying medication orders, performing clinical assessments for appropriate dosing and compatibility, and preparing sterile admixtures in accordance with USP and state board of pharmacy standards. The Infusion Pharmacist collaborates closely with prescribers, nurses, and other care team members to develop individualized therapy plans, provide medication counseling, and support transitions of care between home and alternate infusion sites. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve maintaining accurate documentation, managing inventory and cold-chain storage, ensuring regulatory and accreditation compliance, and participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and outcomes. The role requires consistent, professional communication with patients and caregivers to address questions, monitor therapy response, and coordinate follow-up.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong clinical pharmacy skills, including infusion therapy management, sterile compounding, dose calculation, and medication monitoring.
• Candidates should possess patient care and communication skills, including counseling, education, empathy, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Candidates should possess organizational and technical skills, including accurate documentation, time management, inventory control, and comfort using electronic health records and pharmacy systems.
• Candidates should possess quality and safety-focused skills, including adherence to regulatory standards, infection control practices, and participation in continuous improvement activities.
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree; active and unrestricted pharmacist license in Washington State required.
• Prior experience in infusion pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or home infusion services strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of autoimmune, immunology, and chronic disease management, with the ability to interpret clinical lab results and adjust therapy as appropriate.
• Ability to work on-site near Kent, WA, maintain professional standards, and provide reliable, patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
