Job Description: Home Infusion Registered Nurse

Purpose Statement

Home infusion therapy (HIT) involves administering infusion treatments directly in a patient's home, nursing homes, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. It offers patients greater autonomy over their care.

The Home Infusion RN provides excellent patient care, primarily for adult patients, handling treatments such as IVIG, monoclonal antibodies, enzyme replacement, clotting factor, and more, using various administration methods. The role combines clinical expertise with compassionate care.

Required Education And Experience

• Current and valid RN license.
• Minimum of 3 years nursing experience.
• Strong IV skills and passion for patient care.
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams in a home care setting.
• Proficient in EHR documentation.
• Experience in critical care and infusion therapy preferred, with certifications like CRNI being a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer infusion therapies following physician orders and protocols.
• Monitor and assess patients during infusion to ensure safety and efficacy.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, side effects, and self-care.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop care plans.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and document care activities accurately.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This role involves traveling to patient homes and clinical settings, with on-call responsibilities. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and exposure to potentially hazardous materials and environments, requiring adherence to safety protocols.

Position Details
