Qualifications

A staff Physical Therapist will follow appropriate practices, to perform evaluations, timely re-evaluations and OASIS assessments, determine PT diagnoses, develop a plan of care, and perform physical therapy procedures to aid in restoring function, improving mobility, relieving pain, improving health, and preventing or limiting permanent physical disability.

Overview
A staff Physical Therapist must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age, goal, and diagnosis appropriate care. This position must also be able to follow and adhere to the practices described in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.

What You Will Do

• Performs evaluations, determines PT diagnoses, develops plan of care, and performs physical therapy procedures to aid in restoring function, improving mobility, relieving pain, improving health, and preventing or limiting permanent physical disability.
• Provides reassessments including OASIS assessments at appropriate time points to determine the level of functioning.
• Builds trusting collaborative relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs.
• Supervises Physical Therapy Assistants and Home Health Aides in providing services including completion of required supervisory visit documentation.
• Provides therapeutic treatments and evaluation of equipment needs as applicable.

Qualifications
Education

• Bachelors Degree, Physical Therapy (Required)

Experience

• 1 year Physical Therapy (Preferred)

Skills And Abilities

• Knowledge of the principles of growth and development throughout the life span, be able to assess patients' needs and status by analyzing evaluated data, and be able to interpret information to identify age-specific needs and provide appropriate care accordingly per patient care setting.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age, goal, and diagnosis appropriate care.

Licenses and Certifications

• License Physical Therapy (PT) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) (Required)
• CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 30 Days(Required)
