Job description

BAYADA Home Health Care

is currently seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist, SLP, for Full Time Travel SLP position. This Travel Speech Language Pathologist will support our Maryland Visits Division by providing home health services to adult and geriatric clients on a per visits basis for our offices throughout the area.

This permanent full-time position requires availability during the day, with a Monday through Friday schedule. No weekends, holidays, or on-call is required. Position assignments are based on divisional need and could be in any of the following service areas:

• Montgomery County
• Frederick County
• Carroll County
• Howard County
• Washington County

Home health experience is required. Start of Care/OASIS experience is highly preferred.

Speech Language Pathologist, SLP Responsibilities:

1. Make home visits to clients in designated geographic territories.
2. Perform thorough evaluations to assess, diagnose, and provide therapeutic interventions for clients experiencing speech, language, communication, or swallowing difficulties.
3. Develop a treatment plan based on evaluation, physician's orders, and recommended goals.
4. Continuously assess and revise the speech therapy care plan, and participate with BAYADA clinicians in the multidisciplinary care plan, as appropriate.
5. Educate and instruct patients, family members, or other patient representatives in rehabilitative care and activities to promote the client's health, safety, and independence.
6. Accurately document observations, interventions, and evaluations related to patient care management and services provided, utilizing a state-of-the-art touch pad tablet.

Speech Language Pathologist, SLP Qualifications:

1. A current license as a Speech Language Pathologist in MD.
2. Possess a certificate of clinical competence in speech from the American Speech and Hearing Association, or;
3. Have the equivalent educational requirements, as indicated by school transcript or diploma, and work experience necessary for such a certificate, and be awaiting the opportunity to take the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association examination for certification, or;
4. Have completed the necessary work and education requirements, as indicated by school transcript or diploma, and be in the process of accumulating the necessary supervised work experience required for certification.
5. Solid computer skills; prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
