Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital seeks a part-time Scheduler for 16 hours per week to organize patient visit schedules and coordinate with physicians and staff. The role supports accurate demographic, billing and clinical information collection and requires strong customer service and communication skills.

The scheduler will distribute forms, enter scheduling data, and ensure timely communication of instructions and arrivals to patients.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient visits.
• Develops staffing schedules, triage and on-call schedules.
• Interacts with patients, representatives, physicians, and staff to gather accurate demographic, billing and clinical information.
• Develops and distributes required forms, documents and reports with accurate patient information.
• Enters all data related to scheduling needs.
• Maintains exemplary level of customer service.
• Reviews new and previously recorded information with patient, physician and others to ensure accurate information.
• Communicates instructions and arrival times to patient for each visit.
• Directs patient calls to appropriate staff or charge nurse.
• Communicates schedule changes to staff and/or patients.
• Works with charge nurses and managers to maintain schedules.

Required

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience in a customer service role.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree.
• Previous experience with an electronic medical records system.

Sign-on Bonus Eligibility (if sign-on bonus offered for position):
