Job summary

Human Touch Home Health Care in Washington, DC is seeking a qualified Home Healthcare Scheduler to join our team. This role coordinates referrals, intake, insurance verification and authorizations, client scheduling, clinician assignments, medical records and administrative functions.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering compassionate home-based care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; preferred.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience, preferably in home health or healthcare administration.
• Experience with intake, authorizations, insurance verification, scheduling, medical records, or healthcare admin preferred.
• Knowledge of HMO, Medicaid, and Medicare payors and reimbursement processes.
• Strong computer skills including Windows, Office, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform intake, authorization, insurance verification, eligibility, scheduling, and related administrative duties.
• Answer client inquiries, receive referrals, assist with coordinating home care services.
• Obtain and document patient insurance, demographic, and referral information.
• Identify and verify insurance coverage for home health care services.
• Obtain and document prior authorizations for home care services from insurance providers.
• Maintain authorization records and documentation.
• Communicate with insurance companies, hospitals, medical personnel, clients, and referral sources.
• Enter new patients into scheduling system and update information.
• Schedule clinicians to provide ongoing home health care services.
• Provide clerical and administrative support to the business office and home care operations.
• Assist with payroll data entry and processing for clinicians.
