Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
• Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work.
• 6+ months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred.
• Able and willing to travel 50%.
• Able to sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently and be able to lift 50-100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Promotes Elara Caring’s philosophy, mission statement and policies to ensure quality of care.
• Performs direct physical therapy services in accordance with physician orders to ensure quality and continuity of care.
• Follows Plan of Care as established by Physical Therapist and supervised by the PT, reporting changes as required.
• Adheres to the State Practice Act Guidelines.
• Verifies the Plan of Care prior to each visit and provides care according to physician’s orders and established guidelines.
• Instructs patients and families in the therapy home program and safe use of devices (prosthetic/orthotic).
• Handles a physically demanding, high-stress environment and full range of motion tasks including lifting and transfers.
• Potentially work irregular hours including call hours if applicable.
