Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant for home health visits in the North Shore area. Under an RPT, you will deliver parts of individualized plans at patients' homes, perform delegated tasks and monitor progress.

You will need an Associate degree CAPTE-accredited PTA program, MA licensure, BLS and at least 2 years of acute care, rehab, or home health experience. Competitive pay and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from CAPTE accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• Current licensure to practice Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Massachusetts.
• Active American Health Association BLS.
• Two years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant in an acute care, rehab or home health setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services to patients in their place of residence under the direction of a Registered Physical Therapist.
• Implement selected components of individualized treatment programs and discharge plans per the plan of care.
• Review the plan of care with the supervising RPT and accept delegated tasks within capabilities and regulations.
• Perform selected visits/interventions as directed by the RPT.
• Monitor patient response and re-evaluate with RPT if needed.
• Educate patient and family in therapeutic exercises, functional activities and assistive devices.
• Respect patient and family cultural beliefs, health goals and treatment preferences.
• Communicate patient needs to the RPT and report condition changes.
• Maintain care coordination with patients, RPT and multidisciplinary team.
• Uphold HIPAA confidentiality and complete timely documentation.
