Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, part of the Optum family, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide treatment, exercise instruction and patient education under the plan of care in a home care setting.

You will follow state laws, assist with gait training, ADLs, and coordinate care with the healthcare team. Weekend rotation may be required, with a comprehensive benefits package and growth opportunities within a values-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Licensed to assist in the practice of physical therapy in the state of practice.
• Possesses a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Willing to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing home care PT and work under the supervising PT.
• Instructs patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADLs, and transfers.
• Observes and reports patient responses to treatment to the PT and health team, coordinating care as needed.
• Educates patient, family, and caregivers on therapy within the PTA scope.
