Job summary

Interim HealthCare in New Albany, IN is seeking a Full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for home health visits. You will provide in-home care under the direction of a PT, and support a full range of patient services to bring comfort and dignity to our clients.

The ideal candidate holds a current unrestricted PTA license in Indiana, CPR/BLS/First Aid, a valid driver's license, and at least 1 year of PT experience in home health or similar settings. Travel required as needed.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state of Indiana.
• CPR/AED/BLS/First Aid certification is required.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel.
• One (1) year of professional PTA experience, preferably in home health.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home patient visits based on the plan of care under a Physical Therapist's supervision.
• Instruct and aid patients in exercises, gait, ADL, transfers, and safety.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT.
• Educate patients and families on rehabilitation participation and home program adherence.

As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), you will:

• Provide in-home patient visits based on the patient's plan of care under the direction of a Physical Therapist (PT).
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report to the supervising provider, the patient's response to treatment and changes in the patient's condition.
• Educate the patient and family on how they can best participate, assist, and contribute to the patient's rehabilitation.

To qualify for a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) with us, you will need:

Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state associated with this position.

• Current CPR/AED/BLS/First Aid certification.
• Valid state-issued driver's license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation; willingness to travel.
• One (1) year of professional experience practicing as a Physical Therapist (PT) in a home health or similar setting.
