Qualifications

We are hiring for a full-time Physical Therapist/PT to join our passionate team in Washington DC!

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients' functional status and physical therapy needs, and consult with physicians on care plans.
  • Provide services within the scope of practice defined by state laws, in accordance with the plan of care.
  • Observe and report patient responses and condition changes to the healthcare team.
  • Treat patients to relieve pain, develop and restore function, and maintain maximum functioning using evidence-based techniques.
  • Educate patients, families, and healthcare team members about the plan of care and progress.
  • Visit patients within the service area and nearby agencies as needed.
  • Complete progress notes and submit them per policy; develop and report evaluation outcomes within 24 hours.
  • Participate in staff meetings and committees as needed.
  • Supervise home health aides and PT assistants as permitted by state regulations.
  • Participate in weekend rotations as required.
  • Prepare discharge summaries and patient condition reports every 60 days.
  • Provide in-service education upon request.
  • Adhere to LHC Therapy Standards of Practice and maintain current clinical knowledge and licensure.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience

Licensure Requirements:

  • Current Physical Therapy licensure in the state of Washington DC
  • Current CPR certification
  • Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle
