Job summary

Interim HealthCare seeks a compassionate Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide skilled home health therapy in Virginia Beach and surrounding communities. You will work under a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients regain mobility, balance, and independence in their homes.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, adherence to Medicare guidelines and Virginia regulations, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality home health services.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia PTA License.
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience as a PTA, preferably in home health or another post-acute care setting.
• Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
• Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain).
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled home health physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve mobility, balance, strength, endurance, and functional independence.
• Assist patients recovering from illness, injury, surgery, orthopedic conditions, neurological disorders, and other medical diagnoses.
• Perform home visits while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care that supports rehabilitation and recovery.
• Observe patient progress, conduct assessments, document findings, and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Modify treatment interventions as directed to help patients achieve their established goals.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety techniques, fall prevention, mobility strategies, and self-care.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary home health team.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with Medicare guidelines, Virginia regulations, and Interim HealthCare standards.

Interim HealthCare is seeking a compassionate, motivated Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide skilled home health physical therapy services throughout Newport News and the surrounding communities. Working under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, you'll help patients regain strength, improve mobility, reduce pain, and achieve greater independence—all from the comfort of their homes.
