Job summary

Optum is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant to support home health PT services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role emphasizes patient-centered care, mobility training, and safety in diverse home environments.

Required state licensure as a PT assistant, valid driver’s license, and weekend availability. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is offered for full-time PTA positions within our UnitedHealth Group network.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance or access to public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care and implement treatment as defined by the supervising PT.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, functional activities, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observes, records, and reports patient responses and coordinates care with the healthcare team.
• Instructs patients, family, caregiver, and other health-care team members in therapy within the PT assistant scope.
• Ability to work in diverse home environments and with patients regardless of background.
